How to get there

The location of the QUEST easily reached by plane, rail or bus. We assure the safe arrival and departure by picking up all participants personally from Girona or Barcelona train station/airport (Spain). You will need to make your own travel arrangements to either of these cities. Our team will be happy to offer you travel advice.

Traveling from abroad by plane, train or coach: For those coming from outside Spain, the nearest airport is Girona, which is serviced by Ryanair. The larger airport in Barcelona is also an option, served by Easy Jet and all the major carriers. There is overnight train service to Girona from cities including London, Paris, Zurich, Geneva, and Milan. See for more information. We will pick up our international participants at Girona train station, Girona Airport or Barcelona Airport. Please inform us of your intended arrival place and time before you book so that we can help coordinate appropriately.

Traveling from within Spain: You are also welcome to drop off your son or daughter personally.  Come get a chance to meet some of the Avalon team and take a look at the facilities!

Coming by Car from the North: Following highway A7 coming from France, take the exit nº3: Figueres Nord. Once in Figueres you have to carefully watch for a sign to Olot (to the right). Keep following Olot, first on the national road N-260 and then on the new motorway A-26 (at the height of Besalu). Take exit Montagut i Oix. At the roundabout choose Montagut GIP-5233. Drive through Montagut and turn left at towards Sadernes. Once you have left the village of Montagut, after half a km you find a sign “Camping Rural Can Banal” to the left. You will find the campsite 2 km further up.

Coming by Car from the South: The car trip to Sadernes is 2 hours from Barcelona city center and about 45 minutes from Girona. Following highway A7 towards France, take the exit nº 6 “Girona Nord – Banyoles – Olot”. Keep following Olot, first on the national road C-66 and then on the new motorway A-26 (at the height of Besalu). Then take exit Montagut i Oix. From here on, the description is the same as above (coming from the North).
